About Me!
Hello, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a travel loving mum of two curly mischievous cockapoos (Wilma & Mabel), wife of 21 years to Anthony who is a fabulous husband who I am very lucky to have in my life and creator of captured moments.
I’ve been a wedding photographer for many years now, but my love for photographs began long before I ever picked up a camera. It started with a small, delicate bundle of images tied together with a bit of fancy twine, my parents’ wedding “album.”
They were married in November 1948. My mum was 20, my dad was 22, and back then you didn’t really book a photographer, one would simply turn up at the church and photograph all the weddings happening that day. You’d buy as many rolls of film as you could afford, my parents had just one roll of 12! When the images were developed, they were mounted onto card, covered with paper, and threaded together through two punched holes. That was their album, a small, imperfect treasure.
Those 10 photographs (as two didn’t come out!) are among my most prized possessions. One shows my parents with their bridesmaids and best man, alongside my grandparents on both sides and even my great-grandad. It’s the only photograph I have of some of my family. When I hold it, I feel connected to people I never had the chance to know, proof of how deeply a single moment, captured well, can matter decades later.
Those photographs have travelled through years of love, loss, laughter, and change. They’ve been held by many hands, and every time I turn those fragile pages, I’m reminded of how powerful an image can be. Not only in the happiest moments, but also in the times when life feels heavy, because even then, a photograph has this wonderful way of bringing comfort, connection, and the softest kind of smile.
That belief sits at the heart of everything I do.
When I photograph a wedding, I’m not just creating images for today, I’m creating something for your future selves, your children, your grandchildren. Something that will be held, loved, and returned to again and again. My approach is relaxed, calm, and caring, with a warm, traditional touch that lets the day unfold naturally. I want you to feel looked after, never rushed, and completely yourselves.
My hope is that your photographs become your own little heirloom, your version of those precious images my parents left behind. Something to treasure not only in the joy of anniversaries and celebrations but also in the quiet moments when you want to feel close to the people you love.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little. If my work and my heart speak to you, I’d love to learn more about your story.
For many of my formative years, along with a group of friends I used to spend pretty much every weekend from April to October camping on a beautiful beach in Cornwall. During these weekends I would take many photographs and on a Monday I would take the film(s) to the chemist to be developed and have an excited wait until I could collect the developed photos on a Friday.
Each Friday night we would all sit around the campfire on the beach and laugh whilst looking through the photographs I had taken the previous weekend, looking back at the photographs now they make me appreciate that they were such special times. I used to spend a small fortune on developing back then but still don’t regret a penny of it as it gave me those moments back to keep forever.
After working in administration for a few years my passion for photography had never left me, so I decided to go to college part time to study photography where I passed all my exams with flying colours. I then gave up my lucrative administration job and went to work for the minimum wage for an established photographer, where I learnt the art of wedding photography. Because of these decisions I am now lucky enough to be a qualified, experienced, full time principal photographer with my own wedding photography business.
After trying different types of photography, commercial, weddings, portraits, lifestyle, children, pets and newborns, I decided that weddings was where my heart truly was, so I decided to concentrate on wedding photography and became a wedding photography specialist.
Now 15 years later, I have a wealth of experience in photographing couples’ wedding days and providing them with a high level of customer service as well as great images, quality wedding albums and products. Over the years many of the couples have become friends and we still keep in touch which is really lovely.
